Fear (of flying) makes cowards of us all – is there anything to be afraid of?

The prospect of air travel does not arouse excitement in everyone. There are people for whom being at the airport and on board a plane is a source of discomfort or even fear. Passengers who experience a fear of flying tend to create scenarios in their heads that have little to do with reality. A hostile passenger, a breakdown, severe turbulence and even uncertainty about their own reactions can spoil the pleasure of the trip and in extreme cases lead to a complete abandonment of the plane as a means of transport. Check if there is anything to be afraid of and how to overcome the fear of flying.

Fear of flying – aversion to crowds

Both at the airport and on the plane, we will be in the company of a large number of strangers. The crowd itself can cause considerable discomfort. In addition, there is the fear that one of the fellow passengers may have bad intentions. While detailed airport checks reduce the risk of passenger aggression to almost zero, crowds are a real problem.

Both of these stressors are eliminated on board a private jet. When you take advantage of private charter flights, you choose your travel companions yourself. Everyone also has enough space to feel at ease and comfortable.

Fear of flying – the risk of malfunction

Disaster movies have instilled in us a subconscious fear of malfunction that leads to fatal consequences. The most important thing is to understand that in popular culture, plane crashes happen more often than in real life. The probability of a serious plane crash is only 1 in 9 million.

Private jets are the safest, undergoing regular detailed inspections and periodic inspections. Engineers pay special attention to the technical efficiency of each component and element.

Reluctance to travel by plane – turbulence and bad weather

Sometimes it is not about the fear of flying, but about the fear of inconveniences that bad weather conditions can cause. Turbulence is not pleasant and some passengers have a hard time with it. In addition, unfavourable weather can lead to flight cancellations or the need to land at a different airport than planned, leading to logistical difficulties.

Private jets are a solution to at least some of these problems. They fly at high altitudes, avoiding areas where turbulence occurs. In addition, the pilot can make corrections to the route during the flight, taking into account difficult weather conditions. However, if the flight has to be cancelled due to really bad weather, the passenger will set another suitable date.

Fear of flying – how to overcome it?

People who feel uncomfortable on board a plane may also be afraid of their own physical and emotional reactions to a stressful situation. A stewardess who has a lot of people to look after will not always be around to calm the passenger down.

Again, the best option is private jets. We treat all passengers individually and with full understanding. A stewardess has only a few people to look after, so she will find enough time for everyone. This is an ideal solution especially for neuroatypical people who need a personalized approach and more space to feel comfortable.

Cancelled or delayed flight, lost or damaged luggage – what are your rights?

Travelling by plane is not only the fastest, but also perhaps the most enjoyable way to get from point A to point B. Or at least that is the case until we have to deal with unexpected complications. You get up in the middle of the night to catch a plane and the flight turns out to be delayed by many hours or canceled altogether? Your luggage accidentally flew to another country and was lost or damaged on the way? Unfortunately, all passengers using scheduled flights must be prepared for such situations. Check what your rights are in the context of the unpleasantness you have experienced and learn about a reasonable, convenient alternative.

Problems at the airport – what can happen to a passenger?

Even if the plane arrives on time and the luggage goes where it should, the passenger can experience many unpleasant things at the airport. Waiting for individual elements of the procedure is long and irritating. We are constantly exposed to crowds, noise and intense visual stimuli. It is easy to catch a nasty infection in a crowd that will ruin your vacation or affect the course of business meetings that you have agreed to.

The biggest problem, however, is delayed and canceled flights. As a result, we may not only not reach our destination on time, but also experience huge problems – especially if we have to change planes. Another fatal scenario is when, after a long journey, we want to change into clean clothes, but it turns out that our luggage has been lost or destroyed.

Delayed or canceled flight – passenger rights

A canceled flight creates huge logistical problems. If you find yourself in this fatal situation, you are of course entitled to a full refund for your ticket. Alternatively, the carrier may offer another connection. If the waiting time is long, the passenger must receive accommodation in a hotel with transport. In the event of being left at the airport, the carrier is obliged to provide care, including meals and e-mail and telephone contact with the world – but this is poor consolation.

If the flight does take place, but the plane takes off later than planned, the passenger can also claim their rights. Whether you are entitled to compensation in a given case and in what amount, depends on how much the flight is delayed.

Lost or damaged luggage – procedures

In many cases, losing luggage is much more problematic than a cancelled flight. If a suitcase is lost, the passenger faces a long and arduous road – and without any guarantee of success. You have to go to the appropriate point at the airport, describe the luggage, fill out the form. Then all that is left is to wait.

The carrier is obliged to reimburse the costs incurred as a result of the loss of luggage. However, it is worth bearing in mind that the amount of compensation is a maximum of PLN 7,000. If there was something more valuable in your suitcase, the loss is therefore severe. In addition, complaint procedures drag on for weeks and the passenger has to cope on his own, without his belongings, often in a foreign country.

Private charter – a solution to problems

The icing on the cake is the fact that the above obligations apply only to airlines registered in the EU. Entities from other countries may operate on different principles and put the passenger in an even worse situation. Fortunately, there is a real alternative to problematic scheduled flights. It is to take advantage of the offer of carriers offering comfortable and tailor-made private charter flights, taking place on board modern and safe jets. Flight cancellation or delay, loss or destruction of luggage – these are scenarios that are unlikely to happen to users of private charters.

Empty legs – characteristics of empty flights

A business trip, a family vacation or a spontaneous weekend getaway – in most of these circumstances, the fastest and most convenient means of transport is by plane. However, the atmosphere of a large airport can be tiring and irritating, and the proposed dates and times of flights do not always match our plans. There is still the issue of reaching the chosen destination, especially if it is located outside the strict center of the large city in which we landed. An alternative to scheduled flights are commercial charter flights on private jets. Some operators offer their clients the empty legs service. What does it involve and when is it worth using it?

Empty legs – what are they?

An empty leg is an empty flight. It takes place when the plane is just taking passengers or returning after completing the flight. There is no one on board except the pilots and possibly a stewardess. Despite this, the flight must take place, so the plane will burn fuel. It is therefore more profitable from both an ecological and economic point of view to take passengers. That is why an empty legs flight is cheaper than a standard flight on the same route. The main difference compared to a standard, booked flight is that the passenger has no influence on the choice of destination and flight date – they can simply take advantage of the opportunity.

When is it worth using empty legs?

Charter flights on private jets are primarily associated with flexibility and freedom. For this reason, empty legs may not suit all users. Due to the dynamics and specificity of the private flight market, information about available flights is known to us for a maximum of several weeks and most often only a few days in advance – that is the time a potential client has to make a decision.

It is most profitable to use an empty leg when the flight route coincides with our needs. The second option is a spontaneous trip – the appearance of information about an available flight may be an impulse to take a few days off and have, for example, a city break.

Empty legs – advantages

Using empty legs has a whole host of advantages. First of all, we save money – due to the specifics and certain restrictions, the flight is cheaper than standard. It is also a sensible decision in terms of ecology.

In addition, empty legs have all the advantages of private jet flights. We avoid annoying airport procedures, travel in exceptionally comfortable conditions, the flight is smooth and is also friendly to people with special needs (e.g. seniors, neuroatypical people).

Empty legs – cost

The price of each flight is determined individually. It depends on numerous variables, such as the length of the route, the place of take-off and landing, as well as the size of the aircraft and available facilities.

Follow our social media, where we publish information about available empty legs and take advantage of comfortable flights at attractive prices!

Private jet market in Poland

Year by year, Poles are increasingly interested in private flights, carried out on board comfortable jets. It is hardly surprising, considering how many advantages are associated with traveling by private jet. The planes are intimate, comfortable, safe and modern. Flight procedures are simplified to a minimum and smaller planes easily reach places far from major airports. They are available whenever we need them. So are private jets the future of transport in Poland and Europe? It is worth taking a look at the facts.

Private flights – Poland

In 2022, private planes took off from Polish airports almost 9 thousand times. Just 5 years earlier, there were more than five times fewer flights. The fleet of private planes in Poland already has about 2 thousand machines, of which several dozen are registered not for large corporations, but for private individuals and sole proprietorships.

Most often, flights are several hours long within Europe. Private jets take passengers to domestic destinations less often. There are the fewest intercontinental flights, not counting the close ones – to North Africa or the Middle East.

Private jets – for whom?

In most cases, private flights are used by businesses. It is precisely people running companies on an international scale who most need fast and reliable means of transport, which would also be comfortable and would allow for adjusting the place or time of departure strictly to the needs of passengers.

However, this does not mean that a private jet is not intended for private purposes. It is a great choice for families with children, for groups of friends and for all those who value comfort and the possibility of trouble-free reaching non-standard destinations, other than big cities and popular resorts.

Private charter – possibilities

In the context of private planes, it is often said that we buy not a plane or a flight, but time. It is true – having your own plane or using the offer of companies that provide commercial flights means saving many hours that previously had to be spent on getting to the airport, completing procedures, waiting for the plane and for a possible transfer, and then reaching your destination – if it is located far from a large airport.

Private planes are also exceptionally safe – the risk resulting from irresponsible behavior of third parties is almost completely eliminated, the plane can also modify the route to avoid bad weather. This is the only means of transport so well adapted to passengers with special needs – e.g. seniors, families with small children or neuroatypical people.

Private plane flights – price

What stops Poles from using private jet flights even more often or from buying their own plane is the price. Indeed – buying a plane costs tens of millions of zlotys and for a flight on a domestic route we will pay tens of thousands of zlotys. So it is still a premium service.

Will private planes become more accessible to the middle class in the future? Everything indicates that they will. It is worth remembering that until recently only the wealthy could afford a car, while now it is standard in every household.

Challenger 605 – a new aircraft in the AMC Aviation fleet

With great pleasure and a great deal of excitement we present the aircraft that has just joined the AMC Aviation fleet. The Bombardier Challenger is one of the most popular business jets in the super midsize jet category, combining comfort with great performance. Modern technologies and a strong focus on comfort inside the cabin translate into flight stability and safety, from which passengers can derive great pleasure. If you are looking for a business aircraft that will easily cover a longer route, the Challenger 605 may be your first choice. Check out what else is worth knowing about it.

Bombardier Challenger 605 – history

The Canadian company Bombardier Aviation, part of Bombardier Inc., is responsible for the production of Bombardier aircraft. The company can boast an impressive history – it has been on the market since 1942. Its founder, Joseph-Armand Bombardier, was a renowned inventor in his time. The machines of his idea made people’s lives easier – he created, among others, snowmobile, invaluable in Canadian weather conditions. It was snowmobiles that he initially sold in the company he founded, which over time significantly changed its profile and is now one of the largest manufacturers of high-class aircraft on a global scale.

The Challenger 605 was introduced to the market in 2006. It is an improved version of its predecessor – the Challenger 604 aircraft. It features a more modern cockpit, has more effective flight management systems, and has also been improved in terms of aerodynamics, which increased its efficiency compared to the older model. The Challenger 605 immediately gained popularity and is still one of the most popular models among corporate and private customers, as well as among flight operators around the world.

Bombardier Challenger 605 – specification

The Challenger 605 allows for comfortable flights to distant destinations. The range of 7,408 km allows for a flight from London to New York without stopovers, which significantly facilitates the logistics of the expedition. The cruising speed of around 870 km/h also benefits passengers flying long distances. The maximum speed is 1041 km/h. The aircraft reaches an altitude of around 12,479 m, which allows it to bypass areas with high air traffic and avoid turbulence. These great performances are due to, among other things, two General Electric CF34-3B engines, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

Bombardier Challenger 605 – interior

A characteristic feature of the Challenger 605, which determines its popularity among customers, is one of the most spacious cabins in this class of aircraft. The height of 1.85 m allows for comfortable movement on board. It can carry up to 11 passengers and luggage with a total weight of 407.7 kg at a time.

The cabin can be divided into three zones: an office area, a living room and a relaxation area. Additional advantages include a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious lavatory. There is no time for boredom during the journey – modern on-board entertainment systems and fast internet allow you to work, play or relax. Passenger comfort is also improved by advanced air conditioning systems. Fully adjustable seats can be reclined to a lying position or set in a conference configuration.

Bombardier Challenger 605 – rental price

The cost of flying a Bombardier Challenger 605 depends on many factors, the most important of which are the length of the route, flight time and location, as well as selected additional amenities.

Do you want to travel aboard the Challenger 605? You will find out the full calculation before you get on board. Also remember about the option of using empty legs, which allows you to travel comfortably at attractive prices.

4 groups of people for whom private charter is the perfect solution

Traveling on private charter planes is mainly associated with the business world. Indeed, most services are provided for people traveling on business, rushing to important meetings or wanting to reach an industry conference in comfortable conditions. But businessmen are not the only users of private jets. About 30% of flights operated by AMC are private. There are quite a few people who, for various reasons, avoid traveling on scheduled flights. Check who will benefit the most from the possibility of renting a plane.

Private charter for seniors

One of the factors that decides to give up traveling by plane may be age. Over time, we become less and less able to tolerate crowds at airports and prolonged procedures. The presence of fellow passengers who talk a bit too loudly or use intense perfumes may also be annoying.

After all, retirement is a reward for a lifetime of effort. This is when we should be lounging on exotic beaches and visiting interesting cities. Instead of giving up these pleasures, choose a private charter. No lines, no tiring company, no tedious waiting.

Private charter for neuroatypical people

Perhaps even more severely than for seniors, airport conditions affect neuroatypical people. Autism spectrum, synesthesia or high sensitivity very often mean that the amount of stimuli reaching us at the airport and on board the plane is simply too overwhelming.

Once again, a private charter is the solution. The client goes on a journey with the company of their choice. They can cut themselves off from their surroundings, using entertainment systems, or on the contrary – calm down, admiring the views or simply taking a nap.

Private charter for families with children

A crowded airport and the deck of a large plane are not a friendly space for small children – and therefore, their parents. In a crowd of people, it is easy to catch an infection that will ruin the vacation. The amount of stimuli can make the little one restless and tearful, which in turn will make fellow passengers angry with us.

All of these inconveniences are eliminated by traveling by private jet. Only parents with children board. The little ones are in a friendly, safe environment. They will fall asleep more easily and can also absorb the impressions of the trip without disruption. We will also not have to put up with unpleasant comments from fellow passengers irritated by the natural, childish activity.

Private charter for people with animals

More and more regular airlines allow travel with animals. For the guardian, it is convenient, but for a dog or cat, such a trip can be torture. Animals, much more sensitive than humans, will be exposed to an overwhelming amount of stimuli. Going on vacation can therefore end with behavioral problems or even a somatic disease.

It is better to take your pet on board a private plane. Then, it will be in an intimate group and will cope with the trip much more easily.

Private charter and first class on a scheduled plane – a comparison

A plane is the most convenient and fastest means of transport currently available. We choose it when we want to get to an important business meeting with a contractor, take part in an international conference or trade fair, as well as for private purposes – when we go on a family vacation or a city break with friends. If we also care about high travel comfort, we choose first class on a scheduled plane. Meanwhile, an interesting alternative is to use the service of private charter flights. What are the characteristics of both solutions and which one will work in a specific situation?

Private plane charter – what does it involve?

The service of a charter flight on a private jet is becoming increasingly popular, especially among entrepreneurs, but it is also willingly chosen by private clients. Similarly to a charter flight operated by a scheduled carrier, charter means the possibility of getting to a very specific destination, often bypassing large airports.

The main difference is that in the case of a private charter, we have the entire plane at our disposal and we decide when the flight will take place and where exactly we will fly. Depending on the specific model of the plane, we can use hot and cold catering, a bar and various types of entertainment (e.g. listening to music, watching films). Passengers can be accompanied by a stewardess, who then takes care of only a small group of customers. Passengers pass through dedicated private terminals at the airport, without having to wait in line and endure inconveniences.

First class on a plane – what is it characterized by?

In the case of first class on a scheduled plane, the carrier also tries to maximize the comfort of passengers. They can count on, among other things, priority service at the airport and access to areas inaccessible to other passengers. They have a larger baggage limit and a more extensive menu. The seats in first class are also more comfortable than in economy class.

What a first class customer on a scheduled plane will not receive is complete personalization of the flight. We have to adapt to the flight schedule and we have no influence on who will sit in the adjacent seats.

In what situations is it worth choosing a private jet charter?

A private jet charter is a solution for everyone who particularly values the comfort of the flight, but also its safety – the risk of a threat from third parties is minimized to almost zero. A private jet will take off exactly when you want and bring you to the chosen place – even to a less popular landing site.

All this means that the offer of luxury flights by private jets is increasingly used by business people who have to cover large distances in a short time or simply want to fall asleep in their own bed even if they participate in meetings during the day in places thousands of kilometers away from home. The second group for whom private jets are especially recommended are private users who focus on comfort and prefer non-standard destinations, not served by cruise lines.

Who is first class on a plane suitable for?

First class also has its advantages. It is a cheaper option than a jet chartered for one or several people. It is therefore especially useful when we are looking for something more comfortable than economy class, but have a limited budget. First class is especially often used for the most expensive intercontinental flights. Private charters on these routes are less popular due to the relatively high prices.

Across Poland, across Europe or perhaps to other continents – which flights are the most popular among private charter clients?

Communication is a key concept in most areas of life today. Its quality and pace take on particular importance in the context of running a business or organization. In many really important situations, an online meeting is not enough – to be sure of mutual understanding or to have an informal meeting behind the scenes, face-to-face contact is necessary. It is the speed and quality of communication that makes us dissatisfied with slow and uncomfortable means of transport, such as cars or scheduled planes. Private jet charter is becoming a natural alternative to them. Who uses them and where do we fly most often?

Commercial charter flights – for whom?

The Polish and, more broadly, European private charter flight market is based primarily on business flights. At AMC Aviation, corporate flights account for approx. 70% of the connections served. The rest are private flights – for holidays or city breaks. Charter flights ordered by organizations (e.g. religious associations) and private individuals (politicians, VIPs) still constitute a relatively small percentage.

This structure of services may change significantly in the future – as society becomes more affluent, the availability of private charter flights is also increasing – comfortable, safe and tailored. Especially if more people are going on a trip, the divided costs do not exceed the capabilities of the middle class.

Charter flights within Poland

Domestic flights are not among the most popular. After all, Poland is a small country and traveling from east to west or north to south in one day is not an extreme feat. Hence, most travelers choose a car or train, or a scheduled flight.

However, there are entities and individuals for whom speed is a key value, as well as those who do not want to compromise on comfort. The most frequently operated route within Poland is the Krakow-Gdańsk and Warsaw-Wrocław route.

Charter flights – EU and other European countries

Business and private flights within the EU and other European countries are the most popular. It is worth mentioning that recent years, especially the war in Ukraine, were a huge blow to the business aviation market, which had to quickly find an alternative to EU connections with Ukraine or Russia.

AMC Aviation is currently developing mainly in Western Europe, but also in Scandinavia. These are the destinations that are eagerly chosen by entrepreneurs and private individuals, both in terms of business relations and family holidays.

Intercontinental charter flights

Some time must pass before intercontinental flights become the standard. The reason is simple – the costs of such a trip are already significant and the offer of first class or business class in scheduled planes is simply much more profitable.

At AMC Aviation, we handle inquiries, e.g. about flights to the USA, the Far East or Africa, but relatively less often than in other destinations.

Bombardier Challenger 300 – flying apartment

The highest comfort of longer air journeys – this was the goal of the creators of the Bombardier Challenger 300 aircraft. On board this super midsize jet, you can not only enjoy the pleasure of flying in spacious seats, but also sleep comfortably and eat a delicious, warm meal. See what amenities await passengers of this unique aircraft and learn about its history.

Bombardier Challenger 300 – history

The aircraft was manufactured by the Canadian company Bombardier Aviation, a branch of Bombardier Inc. The company has been operating on the market since 1942. Its surprising name, however, has nothing to do with the arms industry, but comes from the name of its founder. Joseph-Armand Bombardier was an entrepreneur and inventor. He invented, among other things, the snowmobile. In order to sell these vehicles on a large scale, he opened a company that has survived to this day, but is now known not for scooters, but for high-class aircraft.

The Challenger 300 model was presented to the world in 1999 during the Paris Air Show, then called Bombardier Continental. The plane officially went on sale in 2004 and is still in production today. It found the most admirers in the USA, and that is where most of the production goes.

Bombardier Challenger 300 – specification

The plane belongs to the super midsize jet class. It has a range of 5741 km, which means that it can fly over the Atlantic or the entire US mainland on a single tank. This was the original assumption of the design of this model – to enable travel within the States without the need for a stopover.

The Bombardier Challenger 300 reaches a maximum speed of 891 km/h, which means that the intercontinental journey will take just a few hours. It is powered by two Honeywell HTF7000 turbofan engines.

Bombardier Challenger 300 – interior

For the user, the most important thing is the comfort of the flight – and in this aspect, the Bombardier Challenger 300 has a lot to offer. It can take up to 16 passengers on board, although in order to maintain maximum comfort, it is usually about 8-9 passengers with luggage.

The couch + Club configuration allows for a very comfortable flight and free conversation with fellow passengers. The couches and seats fold out to create 5 beds. There is a toilet and a kitchen on board, so you can eat hot and cold meals in a restaurant standard during the flight. There is also a well-equipped bar for passengers. A stewardess watches over the needs of passengers.

Bombardier Challenger 300 – flight price

The cost of flying on this comfortable and modern aircraft depends on many variables, especially the distance, number of passengers, date and other conditions.

Services for aircraft owners – what will you gain with AMC Aviation?

Owning your own aircraft is slowly ceasing to be perceived as a whim. Currently, air transport is a real alternative to road transport. The aircraft does not get stuck in traffic jams and reaches the destination much faster, which is especially important in the context of maintaining business contacts or participating in important meetings. Due to the comfort and exceptionally high level of safety, private individuals who want to take comprehensive care of their loved ones are increasingly choosing their own aircraft. Do you have your own aircraft? Or maybe you are planning to buy one? Check what we can do for you.

Private aircraft – is it worth having one?

There are many advantages to owning a private aircraft. The most important one is the travel time. When we run an international company, we often participate in conferences or high-level meetings, the pace of travel is of great importance.

There is no hiding the fact that we all like comfort. It is a private aircraft that will provide us with the best experience during the flight. We do not have to undergo tedious airport procedures or share limited space with fellow passengers who do not always win our sympathy. To all the advantages of private aircraft, we must also add safety: the pilot can avoid areas with difficult weather conditions, and we are not threatened by third parties.

Aircraft maintenance – what does it involve?

We are specialists in comprehensive maintenance of private aircraft. Our team includes not only experienced pilots and stewardesses, but also a competent team responsible for technical maintenance.

As part of our services, we offer periodic aircraft inspections, performed with the utmost attention to all details. We also provide professional assistance in the event of a failure – we will provide replacement transport and repair or replace the faulty element, taking into account your safety and comfort.

Hangaring – why is it so important?

In order for the aircraft to serve us for many years, it is necessary to take care of it also when it is not in the air, but on the ground. This requires having appropriate premises that guarantee optimal conditions for parking aircraft.

At AMC Aviation, we offer a hangaring service in a modern, heated and monitored hangar. It meets all safety parameters, and at the same time is comfortable and spacious.

Aircraft management – what does it mean?

Flying safely with your own aircraft requires taking care not only of its technical condition, but also of its documentation. We know the procedures very well and will guide you through the formalities both at the stage of purchase and during the use of the aircraft.

Thanks to our care, your aircraft will always be ready to go exactly when you need it!
