A safe plane is an efficient plane – recent inspections at AMC Aviation

The plane is one of the safest means of transport, next to ships and trains. There are approximately 100,000 flights around the world every day, and the number of accidents is very low. People who are afraid of flying can take comfort in the fact that scientists have estimated the risk of dying in a plane crash at 1 to 11 million, and this rate is decreasing every year. For a car, this ratio is 1 to 112 – so it is almost 100,000 higher! These great results for the aviation industry are the effects of, among others, extremely thorough inspections to which aircraft are subject. We present three examples of servicing that we have recently performed as part of the services we offer.

Airplane technical inspection – who performs it?

But first – a few words of introduction. Not everyone is allowed to maintain the aircraft. Mechanics must have specialized education and experience working under the supervision of professionals. Our ground handling team consists only of the best in their industry – both we and our clients can be sure that the planes are in good hands.

AMC Aviation technicians perfectly know the construction of individual aircraft models. They accurately locate faults and repair them effectively. During periodic inspections, they do not miss any detail. Moreover, after servicing, the planes are thoroughly cleaned inside and out. Both technically and visually, the machines look perfect.

12-year service on LJ60XR

Bombardier Learjet 60XR is an exclusive aircraft that can accommodate up to 6 passengers and luggage, allowing for a journey of up to 5 hours without stopovers, with stewardess care, catering and the option of taking a nap.

Its 12-year inspection is very detailed. Mechanics have to dismantle almost the entire interior of the plane: the cockpit, cabin and luggage area. Additionally, overhaul is performed on the engines – this process is coordinated with the manufacturer’s MRO station in the USA.

10-year service on EMB-505

The Embraer Phenom 100 is a light jet ideal for covering shorter distances in impressive times. Depending on the configuration, it can accommodate up to 6 people.

The review, which takes place every 120 months, is extremely thorough. The interior of the aircraft must be completely removed, the landing gear dismantled and sent to an MRO in the USA. Inspection, repair and modification of the aircraft structure are also carried out.

8-year service on G280

Gulfstream G280 is a supermidsize jet characterized by exceptional travel comfort. It can accommodate up to 9 passengers with luggage and has the quietest cabin in its class. During the flight you can eat a hot meal, use the well-equipped bar and even sleep. A range of nearly 7,000 km allows you to reach numerous destinations.

In the case of this aircraft, the 8-year inspection is the most detailed. During the procedure, all access panels and the entire interior of the aircraft are dismantled. At the same time, inspections of electrical and hydraulic cables and water and sanitary installations are also carried out. Even fuel tanks are being dismantled. Then, functional tests of all aircraft systems are performed. The scheduled inspection lasts up to 2 months, during which time mechanics spend up to 1,000 man-hours on the aircraft!
